Discovering Apps on Appitalism
Q: How do I find the app I'm looking for?
A: If you know the title or topic of the app you are looking for, enter it into the Search box at the top of the website (or at the bottom of the mobile version) where it says "Find Apps & Content" and click on the pink magnifying glass.
Alternatively, you can browse by category and then sub-category using the menus on the top left hand column of the home page.
You can also browse for content and apps according to those that work on your device. The most popular devices are listed down the bottom left hand column of the home page. If you don't see your device type there, click on "More" at the bottom of the home page and then click on the "My Device" drop down and select from the full list of device types which is shown there.
Please be aware that not all applications are compatible with all devices, so we recommend you select your device prior to searching for apps as we don't want you to find an app that you really want only to find out that it doesn't work on your type of device.
Q: How can I be sure that I'm getting the right app for my device?
A: You can select the device you use under "My Devices" in your member profile (My Appitalism). This will filter your content searches to match the device you have. Alternatively, filter apps in the App Store by platform to ensure you are downloading apps with your supported device.
Q: How much do apps cost?
A: Apps typically cost between 99c and $2.99, although many apps are free to download and try initially and then if you like what you see, they have the option to upgrade from within the app itself. Some are simply funded by advertising and have no costs at all!
Q: Why is some of the content on Appitalism shown in black and some in grey text?
A: We've designed Appitalism to be your definitive source and one stop shop for all things apps and digital content with every app available listed on the services. To that end, we're adding thousands of titles per month to our app catalog.
Every app that's listed can be rated and reviewed but hosted content, which we sell directly to you, is listed in black font.
However, where we don't yet have a direct licensing agreement with an app publisher, we still list their apps and the content that is hosted outside of Appitalism is shown in grey.
When you click on the "Get It Now" button, content that is hosted by us is placed into your shopping cart. When you click "Get It Now" for content Appitalism doesn't host, we place a link to the location that app is being hosted on in your AppCloud. You can simply click on those links and complete the download there.
Discovering Music on Appitalism
Q: How do I find the music I'm looking for on Appitalism?
A: First click on the "Store" button in the top navigation bar and then click on the "Music Store" option.
You"ll see that there is a dedicated search box just for the music store or alternatively, you can browse by music genre using the menu on the left hand side of the music store.
Alternatively you can browse according to New Releases, Top Selling or Highest Rated items, all of which are accessible through the home page of the Appitalism Music Store at http://www.appitalism.com/music
Once you have found the music you want to download, click on "Get It Now" button and it will be added to your shopping cart. You will see the number of Items in your shopping cart increase by 1 in the top right hand corner of the Appitalism website and if you hover over the Cart icon, you"ll see the selected eBook items listed there.
Checkout and complete your purchase at any time by clicking on the pink "Checkout" button at the bottom of the drop down menu that shows when you hover over the shopping cart icon on the top right hand side of the website.

Downloading Music from Appitalism
Q: How many times can I download a song or album I purchased?
A: You get 2 copies of any music download you purchase from Appitalism.
Q: How do you recommend using the two downloads?
A: Appitalism recommends that you download one copy of the music you download to your computer as it can then be imported into and played in any music or media player such as iTunes or Zune or Real Player.
The second copy of the downloaded music can be downloaded to another device such as an internet-connected mobile phone or device that supports music playing.
It's really up to you as to which two devices you'd like to listen to your downloaded music on!
Q: Are there any limitations on the Devices I can use with Appitalism Music Downloads?
A: Please note that if you have an Apple mobile device such as the iPod Touch, iPhone or iPad, these devices block direct music downloads unless they come from Apple's own iTunes store. Therefore to play music from Appitalism on Apple devices, you first need to download the music to your laptop and then play them in iTunes. If you download music from Appitalism and iTunes is your default media player, you can just click on the music file and it will play in iTunes.
All you need to then do to play the music on your Apple device such as iPhone or iPad is plus your Apple device into your laptop, open iTunes, select the Device you want to play the music on, select Music and then select Sync and hit "Apply". The music from your laptop will then be available on your Apple device for you to listen to. Foe example, on the iPad, select the "iPod" application and you can listen to the music you downloaded from Appitalism and synchronized with iTunes from there.
The Appitalism Music Download service is compatible with all devices including Windows and Macintosh PCs, laptops, netbooks and mobile and smartphones and tablet computers from companies such Apple, BlackBerry, Nokia, Google Android and H-P Palm.
Q: How do I access my Music Downloads?
A: You have a choice of three different ways to access your music downloads- after checking out, we'll show you a "Download" link that you can click on to start the music download. Alternatively, you can download the music from "My Media" or from your "AppCloud".
After you have completed the Appitalism checkout process, you will be given the option to download the music straight to your PC by clicking on the "Download" button. You can choose to download the music there and then.
You can click on the "My Media" button which is in the "My Tools" area in the top right hand area of the Appitalism website when you are logged in.
To download your music to another device, you also have the choice of simply logging into your AppCloud from the desired device and selecting the "Download" button next to the music item you want to download to that device.
Discovering and Downloading eBooks from Appitalism
Q: How do I find the eBooks I'm looking for on Appitalism?
A: First click on the "Store" button in the top navigation bar and then click on the "Book Store" option to access the home page of the Appitalism eBook Store at http://www.appitalism.com/book
Once you are on the book store home page at http://www.appitalism.com/book, enter a part or all of the eBook title, author or topic you are looking for into the Search box at the top of the website where it says "Find Apps & Content" and click on the pink magnifying glass.
Once you have found the eBook you want to download, click on "Add to Cart" button. You will see the number of Items in your shopping cart increase by 1 in the top right hand corner of the Appitalism website and if you hover over the Cart icon, you'll see the selected eBook items listed there.
Checkout and complete your purchase at any time by clicking on the pink "Checkout" button at the bottom of the drop down menu that shows when you hover over the shopping cart icon on the top right hand side of the website.
Q: Which eBook readers and devices can read eBooks downloaded from Appitalism?
A: For a long time most eBooks were read on personal computers, but that has all changed with the times. We currently support the following eReader devices:

A: Appitalism does not currently support the Amazon Kindle because Amazon restricts download eBooks to only those ordered from Amazon's own eBookstore via their Whispernet service.
Q: Can I download eBooks onto my portable device?
A: Yes you can. As long as your portable device supports the ePub format, you should have no problem reading your eBooks!
Q: Is there any specific software or hardware needed to read eBooks?
A: The first time that you want to read an eBook on one of your devices, you'll need to activate your eBook reader software to confirm that you are the owner of the eBook. This is a copyright measure implemented by the book publishers for all eBook stores to protect their copyright.
In many cases, you'll need to download and register on the Adobe Digital Edition website since Adobe created the popular ePub and PDF formats that most eBooks are saved in.
There are also certain third party software apps, such as Bluefire and OverDrive, both of which are available free of charge on Appitalism, that will allow you to transfer your books to different portable devices.
Q: Once I have purchased my eBook from Appitalism, will it always be available?
A: Once you have it downloaded an eBook from Appitalism onto your device, you can keep it for as long as you like.
Q: What formats are the eBooks from Appitalism in?
A: All eBooks found in the Appitalism Library are in ePub format and can be read on any Reader device that supports the ePub format all of them!
Q: Where on my computer did my eBook download go?
A: Your eBook should download to the default location your computer has designated. Typically this is either the Desktop or some sort of Downloads folder. We suggest having Adobe Digital Editions installed so instead of saving to a location, you open it right up without any of the hassle.
Q: Will I be able to read my eBooks offline?
A: Certainly! Once you have downloaded your book(s) from the Internet they can then be viewed regardless of whether or not you are connected in the future.

Making Purchases on Appitalism
Q: What payment options does Appitalism accept for buying premium apps and content?
A: You have a choice of 3 ways to pay for premium apps and content from Appitalism: either (1) using a credit or debit card or (2) using your PayPal account, or (3) directly from your bank account.
You can use any of these 3 forms of payment for App Cash, App Club or App Card purchases from either the Appitalism mobile site or website.
Q: Which types of credit and debit cards does Appitalism support?
A: Appitalism accepts credit or debit cards from Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. To reduce the amount of information you need to enter to purchase from Appitalism with a credit or debit card, we only ask you to enter two pieces of information: your card number and the card expiration date.
Q: How does payment by PayPal work?
A: Upon selecting PayPal as your payment method, you'll be prompted to enter the email address and password that you use for PayPal account. You'll then be able to follow PayPal's instructions and pay via PayPal in the usual way. After you've checked out on Appitalism, you'll be redirected back to Appitalism where you can download or access your apps and content
Q: How does payment from bank account work?
A: We can debit your bank account directly just like many people use online bill pay. Simply enter your bank account number and the 9-digit bank routing number/ ABN for your bank, both of which can be found on the bottom of your paper checks.
Q: How do I buy an app if I don't have enough App Cash?
A: You can purchase the exact amount of App Cash you need to buy the further items you want at the time of purchase. Simply finish shopping, check out, and you will be prompted to add additional App Cash funds to your Appitalism account. If you've already set up payment details with your Appitalism account, you can immediately use this same method of payment or you can choose to enter a new payment choice.
Q: How many different options do I have to pay for an app or piece of content on Appitalism?
A: There are 3 different options for you to choose between- App Cash, App Card and App Club.
Q: What's the difference between being an Appitalism Member and a being in an App Club or having an App Card?
A: Members can participate in all areas of Appitalism such as rating and reviewing apps and other digital content items and earning App Rewards. Members can purchase as little or as many apps and content items as they'd like to with no obligation.
Joining an App Club or having an App Card include all the perks of being a member plus discounted pricing for apps and content, meaning you can get more apps for less cash.
Q: Can I only purchase apps if I join an App Club or buy an App Card?
A: Whilst we encourage members who purchase apps and content on a regular basis to join the App Club since it offers best value for app lovers, we offer two other payment options as well. You can also purchase apps and content using an App Card or App Cash.
Q: What is App Cash?
A: App Cash is the simplest way to pay for premium apps and content on Appitalism. You pay what you want, when you want and nothing more! It is a one-off transaction with no further commitment after that. App Cash is our term for the amount of money you have in your Appitalism account to pay for apps or digital content on an a la carte basis with no ongoing commitment or obligation. Appitalism lets members make such purchases using any method available and being accepted on the service at the time of purchase. There is no minimum purchase requirement for App Cash purchases. App Rewards points that are earning by participating in the Apptalism community are automatically translated into App Cash in real-time, and can be used as part or full payment for purchasing paid apps and content items available on the Appitalism service.
Q: How do I get more App Cash?
A: Click on the "My App Cash" link in the top upper-right corner of any page, and then click on "Buy Cash" under the App Cash section of the page. From there, you have the option to "Buy Cash" or join an App Club or get an App Card.
Q: What is an App Card?
A: Appitalism members may elect to make purchases using an "App Card". Members can load or reload their App Card using either credit or debit cards, PayPal or direct from checking account. There is a minimum initial deposit of $5 for App Cards. App Cards will be credited with a balance equal to 150% (one hundred and fifty percent) of the initial amount. For example, if the App Card was initially loaded with $20, the App Card would be credited with $30. For all subsequent reloads of the App Card, the App Card will be credited with a balance equal to 120% (one hundred and twenty percent) of reload amount. For example, if the App Card was reloaded with $10, the App Card would receive a $12 credit.
There is no obligation to reload the App Card account and unused balances on the App Card account do not expire. Members may elect to set up automatic reloading of their App Card if the balance falls below a certain amount.
Q: What is an App Club?
A: Appitalism members can join an App Club for either $4.99 or $9.99 per month. Like App Cash or App Cards, App Clubs can also be paid for using credit or debit cards, PayPal or direct from a checking account.
Each month, on the monthly anniversary date of the day you signed up for the App Club, Appitalism will charge you the relevant monthly fee, as applicable, for your App Club subscription. The App Club Monthly Fee is automatically renewable on a monthly basis unless previously terminated by you.
Q: How does the App Club work?
A: Upon initial registration, your App Club account will be credited with a balance equal to 150% (one hundred and fifty percent) of the Monthly Fee. For example, a signing up for a $4.99 App Club results in an initial deposit of $10 into the Appitalism account, and $9.999 results in a $20 credit to the Appitalism account. For all subsequent months of an App Club subscription, your App Club account will be credited with an amount equal to 120% (one hundred and twenty percent) of the Monthly Fee. So in the case if a $4.99 App Club, you'll get $6 credit to spend every month your App Club membership renews. In the case of a $9.99 App Club, you'll get $12 credit to spend every month your App Club membership renews.
Q: How do I join the App Club?
A: Go to your "My Account" page by clicking the link in the upper-right corner of any page.
You'll need to sign into Appitalism again to access your Account information because this page may contain personal information such as your mobile number and billing information if you've already entered this on the service. From there select "Join the App Club".
Q: How do I leave the App Club?
A: You may cancel your App Club subscription plan at anytime by either emailing Appitalism customer support at support@Appitalism.com or by calling Appitalism customer support toll-free at 1-877-880-0055 (PIN#247360). A cancellation shall go into effect thirty (30) days from the date of notification to Appitalism.
Upon cancelation of an App Club subscription plan, Any apps and content available on Appitalism that can only be accessed by members whose App Club subscription plan permits such access will no longer to be available to that Member upon cancelation of the related App Club that grants access to that content. A: You can check the contents of your AppCloud at any time by clicking the AppCloud icon next to the Cart. Everything in your AppCloud is ready to download - if you have been just log into app.sm on your mobile browser and select the app you want to retrieve.
Q: How are Apps downloaded to my device?
A: Once you check out, the apps in your cart are placed in your AppCloud. Everything in your AppCloud is ready to download on your device - just log into app.com on your mobile browser and select the app you want to retrieve. You can check the contents of your AppCloud at any time by clicking the AppCloud icon next to the Cart.
Q: Why didn't my device receive my content?
A: Before starting any download, please ensure you have a steady connection to a Wi-Fi or mobile network and that your device has enough battery life to complete the download. If a download fails partway, you should be able to attempt it again. If you continue to have trouble, please contact Appitalism Customer Support.
Q: What is My AppCloud?
A: My AppCloud is a your own personal digital locker where the paid and free apps and digital content you've selected from Appitalism can be accessed and downloaded.
Any content: paid, free, hosted and non-hosted gets sent to your AppCloud. If the content is free or non-hosted it will automatically be sent to your AppCloud without going through the check out process. Paid content gets added to the AppCloud once it has been purchased.
Q: How do I use My AppCloud?
A: The AppCloud is accessible through the Appitalism mobile version. Simply log into the Appitalism mobile site at app.sm and click on My AppCloud.
Q: Besides My AppCloud, can I download my apps and content in any other way?
A: Yes all paid and free app downloads for all devices that were selected from the Appitalism site are sent to members in 2 different ways. We place a link to access the content into My AppCloud. Additionally, a link is sent to your mobile phone using what we call "App Air". You can choose to use either to download the app you selected on Appitalism.
Q: What is App Air?
A: App Air is a "WAP Push" or text message (SMS) that is sent to the member's device with a link to download the apps or content. When you select "Get It Now", you may be prompted to enter you mobile phone number so that we can send you the App Air message. Clicking on the link within the App Air message will automatically open up the browser on that device. You may have to log in using your Appitalism email address or username and password.
Q: How do I access My AppCloud from my digital device?
A: When you are ready to access your content go to app.sm on the target device you want to download your content onto. If you have not already signed into your account from your mobile phone, you will have to do this first. All content that is available for your device will be shown in your AppCloud. Clicking on any non-hosted content in the AppCloud will bring you to the appropriate place to download and access that specific.
